Scuba stands for Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus.1 Scuba makes it possible for one to explore the amazing sights of the underwater world. Divers can remain underwater by using a cylinder of air to breathe. It is practiced recreationally all around the world and can even be a profession. Scuba divers enroll in courses through an organization, such as PADI. What is PADI? PADI stands for Professional Association of Diving Instructors.
